"Kensington Market: the FIRST 150 Years" is an interactive documentary that will take audiences on a journey through two centuries of Kensington Market's history.  From the first nations peoples to British officers who first settled land grants after the war of 1812, to the first wave of Scottish and Irish workers who immigrated to Toronto, and of course, the “Jewish Market” set in motion by the 40,000 Eastern European immigrants arriving at the turn of the last century, the film will explore the echoes of the different eras and generations that have made Kensington their home.  Our goal is to let audiences experience the Market, learn about the people whose footsteps we follow and consider the forces that will impact its future.
